Its here finally, the brand new FX30 camera. Finally we get to see a pro APS-C (Super 35mm) camera from Sony. I personally love shooting on Super 35mm camera. Because it is light weight. And I always love compact cameras. Especially APS-C lenses are a lot smaller. And also very affordable.

So some people may wonder why FX30? It’s an APS-C camera? You could easily find a Sony full frame camera for that price tag, such as the A7III. First of all, I don’t just look at the sensor size. For me is tall about the usability and also the overall image quality. In most of the situation yes full frame has the advantage of APS-C camera. But if you use the right lenses. The result can be very similar.

Overall, I love the FX30. Although the rolling shutter was pretty bad. And the 4K 120p has a massive crop on top of a 1.5x APS-C crop. And it doesn’t look as sharp as the normal 4K 24p/25p or 50p/60p. But for the price range, I think its acceptable.

So quick question for the zoom rocker: Is it I wanna say variable where as if I press harder, it zooms faster and lighter pressure means it zooms slower? I would have a Sony power zoom lens mounted on there. Thanks and I'm wondering if this would be better than a camcorder for railfanning as I'm constantly zooming in and out and moving the camera.

how do i get less noise in shadows and no lens blur when shooting indoors that require iso greater than 800? I filmed with iso 2500 and there was noise, could it be the opening in the lens? 1.4

Great video - Composition and song top notch! If conditions permit, please attach the Sigmas f1.4 (16, 30 and 56mm - any of them). I'm considering buying a FX30 but I'm so used to my beloved A7 III (yes - not the S III nor the IV !!)... Yes, 8-bit... But it's sooo reliable! What can convince me to go for the FX30 (I have the A6400 and ZVE10 also) would be less noise on higher ISOs - that 1.4 lenses can address - AND confirm that 10-bit really makes a difference against 8-bit.
