It seems like there's this attitude in the industry that gamers are just going to have to accept non-physical media. Well not if it's not even going to sell, hopefully they take the backlash as a lesson for the PS6. But I guess eventually consumers will forget how good it was to have physical media and won't remember to expect it anymore

I don't own a ps5, but I might buy the ps5 pro. So I was about to pre-order the disc drive, but I changed my mind thinking maybe before it release, they probably will sell it with the disc drive and the stand because of the backlash of the internet. So let's see

A percentage of those drives are likely gettin scalped but also a number of PS5 owners that have the OG console release and want to upgrade are gonna need that drive. Like you said Reggie, Sony is def gonna make more of em and in a way if there is a huge boom for drives that could indicate to Sony that people really want physical options more than they previously thought. Sony's contract with Disney for physical, their music and movies on physical, I just dont see Sony abolishing physical games. In fact, I see at some point we may see a comeback of sorts (I really hope so). With 89 million physical games sold in 2023 alone for PS, they really cant walk away from it. The Pro is too expensive and FOMO is gettin people for sure but this was a great convo. Always dig hearing KAG talk games, thanks guys!

It’s sad that the series X is such a powerful console and it’s just a GamePass player . A system that plays, indie games and old games. It’s too bad Microsoft couldn’t compete with Sony because Sony needs the competition. That’s why you’re seeing a $700 PS five Pro with no disc drive.

I agree about PS3. A well designed 1080p 60-120hz game is better than 4k 30. I'm convinced that rt isn't necessary to enjoy a game

I do plan on getting a pro. I want the best performing PS5, I also bought a disc drive so I don’t have to search for one when I get the console. I am keeping my original PS5 because I don’t need to have an internet connection to use the disc drive.
