How To Disassemble and Remove a Bruno SRE 3000 Series Stair Lift

In this video we disassemble and remove a Bruno SRE 3050 stair lift and you can too. You will need a few tools and some basic knowledge of mechanical systems.

First, turn off the power to the lift and ensure that the chair is in the down position. Next, remove the cover from the lift mechanism and locate the bolts that secure the lift to the track. Use a socket wrench to remove these bolts. Carefully lower the lift mechanism down from the track and disconnect any electrical connections.

Finally, remove the chair from the lift mechanism and disassemble it as necessary. Be sure to keep all hardware and instructions in a safe place for future assembly or maintenance. Remember to seek professional help if you are unsure about the process.

Thanks for your informative video. We are installing new flooring under the Bruno SRO 3000 and this video was very helpful. Now we just need to figure out where the gear strip that dropped out of the chair goes! 😂

Super rad video I did my mom’s house had to remove it for new carpet. Your video is helpful but damn that chair is heavy took all I had to get it off then when I tried to move it, piece of plastic broke on the bottom even in the upright position Putting it back on. Is it going to be hard? I think I’ll bring my floor jack up from the garage to jack it up high enough to reset it. Damn my back hurts. Rad video😅😅

I learned the hard way why the video says to leave the bottom end cap on and remove the lift from the top. My stairlift was broken and s stuck at the bottom. While it could be manually moved by turning the motor, it would’ve taken forever to get it to the top of the stairs. I decided to try removing it from the bottom. It wasn’t an issue of space. There was enough room to remove the stairlift from the rail that way. What the video doesn’t explain is that the gear rack inside the rail comes in 6-inch segments. The only thing holding them in is the endcap. If you remove the bottom end cap, the moment you remove the chair lift all those little 6 inch steel pieces come tumbling out. Made quite a racket! It also removed a lot of weight from the rails. If you have a multi-segment rail, you will end up with no choice but to remove all those little steel pieces. So, feel free to remove the lift from the bottom, but I recommend putting some sturdy cardboard underneath so that as those pieces fall out they don’t damage your floor.

Great video. How you operate the chair manually? My chair is stuck in the fold rail. I am trying to bring it upstairs manually.

Question, can the chair and motor portion be taken off at the bottom, or remove the bottom cap and take it off there ? Don't want to have to carry that heavy suckered down a flight of steps.

Hi my question is can you break the rail down into two parts I see where it is like in two parts but I didn't see you reply to that above question

I am currently going through the "school of hard knocks" with moving one of these from one house to another. IMO, it's much easier to take it off the rail and lift it without the chair still attached. The chair makes it extremely awkward, out of balance and hard to get a grip on it. By itself it weighs 50 pounds. One screw takes the plastic cover off the front to expose the 2 large bolts holding the chair on and the electrical wire connection. Unplug the wire, take the bolts out and remove the chair. The factory has another looped wire connection on the wire to plug back into what was unplugged to bypass all the safety cut offs the chair has so you can use the remote to move it without the chair on it. Take out the last row of teeth in the gear track. This will make it stop before it fails off the end of the rail. You can then easily grab the motor and gear assembly to lift it off the rail with no chair on it. Also, once I do know why but the second time I don't know why, it completely lost all power and would do nothing, twice because a small 5 amp fuse blew on the circuit board. If you lose all power, look there.

Hi. Thanks for the Video.

I bought one for my mom and disassembled it from seller.

The 5 amp breaker on board was bad and I replaced it.

Once I mount it on track, I get nothing. The batteries are good and I am getting about 26volts.

I have tried everything and can't seem to get this working.

Any help from anyone?

I turn the breaker on and off but I get no beeps nothing.

The 25 am fuse is also good.

Thanks so much for this video. I just bought a used SRE 3000 series and installed it myself. The chair is only 6 months old. After the installation is completed, there is no power. The chair wouldn't do anything, no beeping as well. Do you know what the problem might be? Thank you for your advice!

Hello wondering if you provide support services for this chair lift?

Helpful video except you didn't show how to detach the chair from the electric source. I pulled the black one off but for the life of me, I cannot get the red one off. Is their a trick??
