Premier Doug Ford was in Stratford today to announce new funding for Ontario's auto sector.

There is no labor shortage just greedy corporations that don't want to pay a living wage or train their own workers like they use to, people can't afford to pay rent, own a vehicle and pay monthly bill in Ontario on the wages non union companies are paying.. They all want college degrees to be a laborer, or people to use their own vehicles and phones for company work, it's time to stop throwing money at them and tell them to do their own training, where do they think people are going to get experience from if no one is giving it? They need to stop this multi interview, IQ testing, multi stage hiring process if they're desperate for workers and hire anyone that applies, then train them. Glad I'm retired and done with this work world.

The lack of supports for apprentices to force companies to: 1. use apprentices, 2. make companies accountable for the apprentice training, 3. ensure that the apprentice system rewards companies who successfully graduate apprentices, are what I have seen as failures for the 20's to 30's who try to transition from a previous career.

I'm sorry, but when corporations are reporting record sales year over year but employee wages remain stagnant, this is the shitstorm they brought on themselves.

Maybe those "essential workers" are realizing that without them supporting business with their "unskilled" or "undervalued" labour are recognizing their true worth. Maybe it's not that no one wants to work, but rather that no one wants to work for a pittance, doing the Lion's share of the work while getting the Lamb's share of the rewards.

Our Healthcare system is in a crisis. Emergency departments and birthing centers are closing because they can't retain enough nurses. Doug Ford has no plan to address our healthcare crisis or recognize the value of nurses, psws and support workers. We just had an election and the opposition parties didn't even try to address this. We need our provincial government to provide effective services in healthcare education and provincial transportation.

You all forget oh so quickly! There is a reason why there is a lot of people still not working.
Many businesses permanently closed, many businesses don't want to pay a livable wage so why should people work for such a company and still can't afford anything either way? Just because the government's temporarily lifted the mandates and lest we forget, that they left that decision up to businesses. So if businesses require vaccine passports updates Etc if they still require people wearing masks, people are not going to work people, are done!! Lastly, how many true Canadians left this country because of our governments?
