The busses in my hometown in Germany lower themselves on stops to make the boarding for disabled or old folks easier.

Articulated bus is a bus that bends in the middle, it has this kind of acordeon structure that allows it and people can just walk through it. Low floor bus is a bus with it's floor as low as possible, basicly at the bottom of the bus, all the engine and stuff is moved to the back or the roof. It makes it easier for disabled people to get in and out because you don't have to go up stairs when you enter the bus. On top of that those buses can lower their suspension a the bus stop floor at the entrance is pretty much at the level of the sidewalk. Lastly for London double decker busses, they were created fit more people on the bus that still could manuver tight roads in the city.

Articulated buss = bendy bus
Double articulated = bends in two places.

Busses in Sweden don't usually stink, they get cleaned regularly and most passengers are regular people going to work or school, not drunks

Reece Martin worked for a city Planning department. Most of his vids are about trains. Although he doesn't have a BA in Urban Planning. He absolutely knows his stuff!

Articulated means there's a flexible joint somewhere in the middle.

I don't have drivers license, i'm 50. So, i've used public transport and bicycle all my life. I literally can't remember being on a bus that smelled like urine, even though i've seen a puddle of one once. Hundreds of trains, too many buses to count, trams, subway.. Nope, it just isn't a thing here. They are not full of junkies but ordinary people, and even famous politicians use public transport. Hell, 6-7 year old kids use them alone, they are safe in that level.

London's open top buses are double deckers with the top chopped (pick a nice day, sitting on the top on a rainy day would suck)

I’m from Wales, each country in Britain gives its over 60’s concessionary bus passes. Mine covers Wales only. I can get a free bus from my village to the city, Cardiff. And the large towns nearby. Luckily my village is on the junction of two main roads. The A4119 goes from Cardiff to the Rhondda Valley and the A473 goes from Pontypridd to Bridgend. These routes are well covered by regular route of 20 mins to Cardiff and 30 minutes on the Pontypridd route. Other quieter routes have hourly buses. Our newer buses to Cardiff have wifi and charging facilities. Our Cardiff bus diverts in a couple of places to divert to villages off the main road. Our area has grown over the last few years, and we are a dormitory town for Cardiff. Cardiff is about 12 miles away, with the Rhondda valley about 10 miles. National Express provides long distance coaches, similar to Greyhound.

Our buses don’t smell like loos. Even the night buses I used to ride on after a night out didn’t smell. They are well cleaned. The single layer buses lower to allow wheelchair users to access the bus… you can fling around central London by hopping on and off buses easily. People do long commutes using buses incl school journeys etc. one commute I did involved buses and the tube… didn’t need a car, but still went from Morden (bottom of the nothern line on the tube) to Nottinghill on public transport…
It’s more normal in the UK to use public transport and buses are a huge part of that

UK has double decker buses across the UK not just London.

Buses in the UK don't generally smell. They are mostly manufactured in Scotland or Yorkshire by Alexander Dennis or Wrightbus in Northern Ireland. Some are imported from Europe (mainly VDL or Volvo). Very few from Germany, though (Mercedes or MAN). I have only ever seen one US-manufactured bus, and that was a traditional US-style school bus that First Group imported for trials on their school contracts. The trials were not successful. Cummins engines are widely used, however: a US company that manufactures them in the UK.

Fun fact Greyhound was founded by a swede. In Stockholm when i was young they had dubbeldecker but in the beginning of the 70s they stopped using them.

I have never used a bus that smelt like a toilet, even in the USA. However the standard of coaches used for long trips in America, like Greyhound, are absolutely disgraceful when compared to other parts of the world. Here in Asia, we have business class seats with wi-fi and in seat entertainment and often food and beverages served en-route.
