A Very Simple and Delicious Slow Cooker Bolognese

A very simple Slow Cooker Bolognese that anyone can make, taking traditional flavours and cooking them in the slow cooker to create a delicious meal that everyone will enjoy.

We served ours with Tagliatelle, but spagetti or any other type of pasta would be just as good.

Serves: 4-5
Cooking Time: 6 Hours
Setting: LOW

700g Minced Beef (preferably 5% fat)
200g Bacon Lardons
2 Onions
1 Teaspoon of Garlic Puree
1 Tablespoon of Tomato Puree
1 Beef Stock Pot
1 Tin of Chopped Tomatoes
1 Tablespoon of Worcester Sauce
2 Tablespoon of Paprika
1 Tablespoon of Thyme
1 Tablespoon of Rosemary

I tried making such a meat sauce in the electronic pressure cooker. Although, it only took 16 minutes actual cooking time, it was a bit watery and not much depth in flavour. So I'm going to try it using the slow cook function and see if it turns out better. My instinct also tells me that it will be nicer to fry the onions, garlic and beef first to get a bit or carmelisation before putting it in the slow cooker. Is 6 hours a minimum time?

I I thicken mine up with Philadelphia or other soft cream cheese. Also add splash of red wine. Then add parmesan.

I’m in America what is beef stock pot and bacon lardons? Could I substitute a beef bouillon cube and regular bacon?

Next time you make this, try adding the cooked and drained pasta to the sauce for a minute ;)
