From the trailer you can clearly see it's a very good game with a competitive aspect in mind, no wonder it got the award, and the gameplay is also obviously pretty competitive because Dani had a competitive game in mind, without being so competitive that it kinda ruins the game. Congratulations Dani on a very well deserved award.

dani 10 years later: Oh shoot I accidentally won every award I ever could win for a game

think about this:

-dani made karlson 2d based off of a game jam, inspired by a childrens book and superhot
-karlson 2d spawned karlson 3d because of a comment by jotaro, it created the theme of dani being dared to make increasingly ridiculous games
-karlson 3d allowed dani to get used to making 3d models and level design and stuff
-karlson 3d got given fast and fun movement because karlson 2d was speedran alot for some reason
-dani made a game out of twitter suggestions that became 3rd person so a karlson model was made for milkman karlson, which became the normal kind of body shape for his later 3d games
-dani bought a vr headset for a dare, making ogga bogga and a caveman model
-dani was dared to make a survival multiplayer game, muck was born
-muck got given karlson's movement but slightly modified and ogga bogga's caveman model for a player
-muck blew up, dani knew he could make games on steam now he had experience + a love story with jeremy
-netflix released squid game and it got really popular
-dani made a knock off squid game called crab game to avoid sueing, using muck's already modified movement system
-dani put crab game on steam unaware of the major consequences that would cause
-crab game blew up even harder
-crab game ended up getting an award

who knew that some children's book about a kid using a rear end attached propeller flying over rooftops would domino into an absolutely stupid game getting an award for greatest competitive game
