My husband has no desire to be social either with his own friends or as a couple. I on the other than have kept a group of friends from where I worked for years, another friend from the last place I worked (individual friendship). Before I retired I joined a local church, convenient to my home, and met new people. I belong to an older women's group and have made quite a few individual friends as well. I also have a good relationship with my son and daughter in law as well as my grandson and his girlfriend. I volunteer occasionally as well with different groups of people. Next year I plan on joining a hiking group. I live in Rural Indiana so there is not as much formal opportunities but if you seek them out you can find something, libraries are great resources as well for group activities.

You have done so much to support and empower women, and have remained humble in the process. Thank you so much Margaret. God's blessings to you always! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! ❤️🙏

We all have to find what works for us. I enjoy solitude with the Lord. I do get out from time to time, but im so grateful now that i can choose when.

It is nice to be a part of the group after 60. I am 76, few years ago, I decided to keep my distance from women whom I considered my friends, as I was the giver, and they became a taker. Life is peaceful and stress free without them. I realised painfully that they weren’t giving me a joy. So, there’s something to be said about not belonging to a group too.

Every video you put out is, I think a true picture of your good soul. You have most assuredly helped many women in great emotional need, and are always ready to do more.
I have had the suggestion made quite often in my 81 years, to write an autobiography and think I prefer talking to others about the very many remarkable things that I have lived through and to learn what others have experienced.
I have tried every suggestion you made about staying socially involved and find that I truly do enjoy being my own best company at the end of the day. I am a “ creative” and always in the midst of several varied projects, read several books a week, enjoy the love and affection of many of my adopted animals, design gardens and tend my own large garden, cook wonderful vegetarian food and teach others how to use herbs and spices, volunteer to make quilts for women and children shelters, volunteer with several animal rescues, and for many years went daily to our local nursing home to help with lunch times. I have been the one to hold several patients’ hands at their end of life as well.
I wake each day thankful for yet another wonderful day. I exercise daily and thrill my doctors with each visit😊.
Now, was this what you meant when you said you would like to get to know us, your followers? I hope so.
Thank you for showing us all that there truly are honest and loving and peaceful people for us to find❤️

This may be a little off topic, but still within the conversations of this channel: I was thinking about bucket list things and, this may be an idea for an article or video, but online, they don't talk about what perplexes me, which is how to be able to do these list items. Online, there are offered suggestions as to what to put on the list, things to do. This holiday season, I am focusing on what is most important to me; making a warm home for myself and my two daughters during these very chilly and endlassly challenging times. Very happy that I am able to do that.

You're right every connection opens a window in your life. And yes, we're all broken but trying. I've been following you since you started - you've made a big contribution, not a small one. 🙂

I am an introvert but have found if I get over myself enough to reach out to one person the rewards can be amazing. At the least we have a nice chat. Sometimes I have made a friend for life!

Hi Margaret, I so love your informative videos, since you first started. You, yourself are a grand example as to what can be achieved in the latter years of one's life. You throw an uplifting view to becoming older.
My issue with MY life has never, to my knowledge been highlighted, sometimes too personal, still awaiting a similar story to be told, to enable me to relate to same.
I feel I could continue writing till " the cows come home", an expression my mother often used, however will continue to watch your videos in hope.
Enjoy your day.

I wish you could come over for tea and some of my baking Margaret! lol. If you’re ever in northern Alberta let me know hahaha. I try to invite people over but often they can’t make it because of their busy lives and I understand. I’ll just keep trying my best. Sending you loads of love sweet lady.

I attend Goddess Groups with women (& some men) my age. We usually meet during equinoxes & solstices and socialize. Finding Goddesses that share the same body types as us is empowering.

Going to Zumba, Swimming and my local Unitarian Church and candlelight services at the local Anglican Cathederal, dog walking & I still work because I love my jobs.❤❤❤️

Good morning Margaret! Thank you so much for this advice and for your thoughtful and beautiful observations on mature living. I have a social commitment later today that I was thinking of avoiding. It's winter here and it's cold Very easy to just stay on the couch! I think your advice has helped put things into perspective for me and I will attend that event later this afternoon. You are so correct, each day is a gift and it's important to appreciate it and to be actively involved! Thank you for your encouragement and wise words! Have a lovely Thursday!
