I work in HR for Amazon and can tell you the $155k is the small part of her actual pay lol. When she says “+ compensation” she’s likely referring to RSUs and sign-on bonuses. She’s likely getting another $200k in those.
Most AWS engineers are making about $300k+ in total compensation.

I’ll be transitioning from HR to data science when I finish my masters and will likely be making close to that $300k mark. Fingers crossed 🤞🏾
Even those $120k to work in HR isn’t bad either!

Don’t ever do a bootcamp for IT. If you are not self taught after the age of 20, don’t get into IT. It’s an artisant craft that requires talent and passion, if you don’t have the passion you will never learn, and you will never be better then the nexlbeards that sits every night after works and work for ”fun” and build shit during the weekend.

Everyone needs a degree+certs lul. But you could try ill just be 2-3x harder for someone to give you a shot. The title is engineer.
