Governor Walz is the whole package. He is a great speaker, he can be easily understood and he’s 100% authentic MidWest. He is not your regular slick Democrat.
He also has experience in Congress as well as a governor, so he has executive and legislative experience. He has also served as a teacher in the MidWest and abroad AND he has a LOT of military experience which people like my uncle absolutely love. (My uncles a Dem and volunteered for Pete for his service).
For progressives he’s promoted and campaigned on progressive policy positions particularly when it comes to labor. The fact that a lot of labor unions are supporting him is HUGE for him being considered and for progressives who value labor unions. He’s about as good as we can possibly get considering our party leaders tend to hate our favorites.

Our school lunches were $2.75 a day. For 2 kids in school, that adds up. This was the first year our state had free lunch for all kids. It definitely makes a difference.

I never got free lunch or any lunch most days. My mom worked and my father was disabled so I didn't qualify. I spent many of days looking for money people would drop in the streets to eat anything. I hope Kamala makes free lunch a priority.

As a Minnesotan, I have deep respect & made props for Walz. He actually gets shit done, passing policy rather than “playing politics.” He’s unapologetic when criticized, especially by the right, instead taking the time to explain the “why” & standing firm without getting rattled. He’s an excellent speaker & could wipe the floor in a debate. Leading Minnesota these past several years through some pretty challenging times could not have been an easy job, and he was not always popular with every person in our ever polarizing climate these days, but he rose to the task better than many. He would be an asset to the White House, hands down.
