NOW AVAILABLE: Multitasking Support & Major Design Improvements

ForeFlight's May release includes support for Multitasking on iPad, plus a huge collection of design improvements on both iPad and iPhone that establish a fully unified and consistent interface across all devices.

The result is a more efficient layout, a re-imagined compact More menu, support for re-arranging the Tab order, fullscreen layouts for pages like Checklist and Logbook, and the arrival of virtually all iPad-only features on the iPhone, including the FPL "Bubble Editor" and dedicated Plates and Scratchpad views.

will the checklists section be able to be open as an overlay on the maps page? This way keeping navigation open and visible while doing standard checks like cruise checks or in the event of an emergency much easier to keep some situational awareness on your location and such.

This is awesome! I’ve always wanted to have navigation up and have a note taking app running at the same time. I just might be able to switch fully over to my iPad for my kneeboard in the cockpit.

Cant wait for the Apple glasses and what foreflight could bring to them! I'm thinking Glasses mounted display and augmented reality dashboard of different types to start!

I would LOVE to see a "recent" or quick doc changer in the documents tab. We flip between a lot of docs with my 135 operator and it’s very cumbersome to not have a recent tab or the ability to have multiple docs open at once with tabs down one side or the other.

This is awesome. The only reason I ever bought an apple product (mini iPad) is because of this app which is such a great aviation app. I’m a Samsung fan, will you ever make this available for Android?

Will Takeoff and Alternate Minimums finally jump straight to the correct page or continue to lead us on scavenger hunts..? Also, can FF please automatically create plate binders? WX info in the profile view to help find better winds or avoid icing? An added FPL filter on the Airports page would also be great :)
All that said - thank you for the continued improvements; always looking forward to the new features you guys come up with!

Only big request at this point is... let me have Checklists on my Apple Watch so I can preflight the plane without having to constantly pull out my phone!

Great updates. When can we expect them to be published to the App Store? I’m excited to have access to Scratchpad on the iPhone version.

So I fly for pleasure, but my day job (actually weeks at a time job) is captaining an oil tanker. I wish our commercial grade marine charting software was as well supported and as well implemented as Foreflight. Thanks guys! Another awesome update.

I’ve been a ForeFlight user for just about 10 years and fell in love with it on day one. Since then, it has been wonderful to watch the evolution of this app. It just keeps getting better and I can’t imagine how we got along without it in the “old days”.

In term of an update, this is great to see what is happening. As a software engineer I can perfectly see why you re pushing multitasking "ipad" and "iphone" at the same time (helping a lot on this scenario).
Continue on this great product!
