I don't know why we still haven't got ourselves a high altitude test facility.

We could lease one from Russia to understand what systems it has and how it works - but since we have seen it action so many times during Kaveri testing, we may skip this step and get ourselves one already.

It could be anything from a new or a used Boeing 747 or Airbus A330 and equip it for high altitude engine testing.

So, if PM Modi is going to France, he better order a retired Concorde 😁 and activate it with overhaul and refitments for a high altitude test bed facility .

The future is around, we could be testing engines for hypersonic fighters for our services - so high altitude scaling facility is also a requirement too .

For a country like ours, having a HATF is not an issue from a funding perspective. Its just our MoD doesnt have the foresight to push for it.

We should have our own flying test bed and ground testing facilities. We everytime send to Russia and spend money.
In house facilities may bring unnecessary spending and we can do experiments quickly.
We should have such eco system in India four to five different states can be used by our Pvt Defence Industries on rent basis.
