Hey guys! I’ve got a short tutorial for you today which will teach you an easy method that adds a lot of texture to your piece. Let’s get started. This pattern is worked in groups of 4 strands (2 pieces of rope folded in half to create 4 strands). Feel free to create the pattern as you see here or make it smaller or larger by subtracting or adding 4 strands. For this set up I’ve cut 6 pieces of rope, each piece is about 2 meters in length. Fold each piece in half and attach to your dowel using Lark’s Head knots.

Row 1 - Tie 3 half square knots along the top of your work. Make sure you are tying all all left facing or right facing square knots for this pattern.

Row 2 - Tie 2 alt. half square knots.

Continue tying rows of alt. half square knots until you have reached your desired length.

Thanks for watching!

Your description is clear but I can’t see the knots you’re forming because they are behind the palm of your hand as you’re tying them.
