A Cygnus cargo spacecraft supporting Northrop Grumman’s 20th commercial resupply services mission for NASA was released from the International Space Station’s robotic arm at 6:01 a.m. Central July 12th. The spacecraft launched January 30th aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida and went on to deliver more than 8,200 pounds of cargo to the space station after its arrival on February 1st. The spacecraft will undergo a fiery re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere, eliminating more than 7,300 pounds of disposable waste. This leaves a spot available at the Earth-facing port of the space station’s Unity module that will be occupied by another Cygnus in August.
