NMIXX “Run For Roses” + “DASH” M/V REACTION

If anyone tells you that this ins't NMIXX then I don't know anymore! What else do you want!!!??? Now I might come to regret this ranking but on a first impression, "Run For Roses" is IT for me, then surprisingly "Sonar" and then only "DASH"! The reason behind "DASH" being ranked last even though I LOVED it is simply because the change up part was not holding its own in my opinion. The rest of the song is just so superiorly great that it almost made the change up part insignificant; I couldn't remember how it sounded! Though, visual wise it was the most impactful part of the MV for me! It really reminded me of O.O in a sense. So I would say this comeback is them going back to their roots if you want and I am here for it! I said I hoped for JYP to solidify their musical identity (and that regardless of whether I enjoy the songs or not) and they did! The vocals are perfection, the soulful/hip hop vibes are immaculate! And even though that's the forte or the song it also became its achilles heel almost because it is SO good that it overpowered the change up segment of the song! I know I'll get used to it eventually but still! I also noticed, there's no real rap verse this time which makes the song really really short unfortunately! Another reason why this is ranking last out of the three releases as of now!

I think NMIXX future is really bright. Whether we think their song is bad, good, a grower, or a bop, I think its safe to say that theyre doing such an incredible job at defining and mastering their own unique identity. In my opinion theyre one of the groups (if not, the the only group) right now whos shaping their own genre, not genre whos shaping them. I mean yes mixpop is a genre but NMIXX is shaping that genre in its finest to point where we can say "Thats an NMIXX genre". They never invented mixpop but oh God Mixxpop has never been this Nmixx holds a great power in terms of music because their genre is basically limitless.

Nmixx has a solid identity and concept. People just got to keep up with them, they never went out of their way to please the public and that’s what I love sm about them.
Also, The confusion comes from prejudices about them and the fact that their sound is very different !

This groovy vocal heavy upbeat vibe works well for NMIXX. Now that we’ve gotten a few songs that push that vibe I hope that helps them solidify this as their base sound. They can certainly mix it up, but it’s clear this is their strength so I hope they lean into it.

All in all, a very successful, high quality mini album all around for NMIXX.
