It is better to go to a facial plastic surgeon that specializes only on the face as opposed to a plastic surgeon that does every procedure on the body. You do amazing work.

Thank you! Outstanding podcast! I just turned 76 and will be having my first face lift. I originally went for my consultation thinking I wanted a neck lift and mini facelift. As it turns out, I will be having a facelift and neck lift.... no mini! I looked thru pictures of his work and yes, people looked refreshed but not the ‘caught in the wind
Thank you again! I subscribed to your channel!

The advice is good, but as a consumer, it's nearly impossible to ascertain all these suggestion points from online or even in person consults. We are all just guessing in the dark basically. Choosing someone on social media who shows a lot of public before and afters is reassuring, however, we're only seeing that 1-2-3 chosen best examples. When there are 30 in a month, how do we know that those other clients did or didn't receive as great of a result. I've had two in person consults and both board certified facial plastic surgeons only showed me 5-7 examples in office of their work as before and afters for the same procedure they recommended for me. Is that enough? Didn't feel like it. One sticking point that was expressed by BOTH surgeons I consulted with was their reluctance to guarantee me any certain result. It all depends on how "you heal" and your "individual body", etc. I don't feel confident spending thousands without more of a guarantee.

Doc, please get rid of the background music. It's distracting.

This is very informative. I wish Dr. Karam would make a video of “what went wrong” examples so we better understand what to listen for when conversing with a surgeon.

I tried to listen but cant due to the background music. Takes away from the message

I think that the Courtney Cox picture was used out of context here. It appears as if when CC had pillow face, she made the mistake of getting too much filler to try to correct sagging skin instead of getting a facelift at the time which would have been a more appropriate treatment to address the issues at that time. It seems as if she may have had a facelift after she dissolved some of the filler in her over-filled face.

Awesome information! I am doing my research now and I don't plan over ever doing a second facelift if I can get the courage to do the first one!

Everything you said makes perfect sense. I would assume these celebrities would of done their research on the dr they chose.

Some surgeons say there is maybe a lifetime limit of two, maximum three, facelifts. An opinion on that would be great so patients can plan the timing of their (first) procedure. Also, does surgical expertise apply to all types of features? For example, does extensive experience of facelifts/blepharoplasty on white patients be applied to a facelift on a man or a black patient or blesphoaoplasty for Asian patients, etc.

Thank you. The info about general anesthesia versus IV sedation was very helpful.

Please teach a couple of young surgeons how to do this and move them to the Midwest making about half what you do. They would still live very well, and your work will live on!

Thank you, very informative but the music does distract.

Can you talk about general princes for various procedures so people know what they should expect and what to maybe be wary of in pricing.

No matter how good the plastic surgery is, you never look 20 years old again. It's simply not possible.

I love your videos because they are educational and informative and teaching us what and how to do the best thing for ourselves when wanting to look the way we feel. We always know how we want to look but we don't always know what is best for us to get there. I thank you so much for your great videos Dr. Karam. They are very helpful in making decisions.

This advice applies to every surgery out there to be honest!

Especially your face! It’s your ID after all!

As cost is one of the main issues of accessibility to this type of surgery (for the lay person). It is a shame there is no transparency in terms of cost (just a ball park figure). I would love to have a lift but resort to fillers because a little here and there is all I can realistically afford…

Great video. Thank you for all of this information. I hope I do not need a facelift anytime soon. In the event that I will need one in the next 10 years I feel more prepared on how to go about it by watching this.
