Warning signs: I normally sleep in past 2pm, but today I woke up at 6am! 😅 One good thing about it is I’ve finally made my way through washing all of the dirty laundry piles I’ve accrued over the course of my winter depression.

This is the kind of information that I wish more Mental Health Providers would talk about. Especially to family members and caregivers. My kid's dad goes through this and even though we're not together it's really stressful for the kids and I because he becomes pretty aggressive and demanding. It disrupt everyone's lives for the last few months of the school year.

Love the tips, thank you. People are one of my biggest triggers b/c my childhood was severely abusive. Having regular wake up times are helpful too. I usually fall off of my routines when I'm manic. Could you possibly do a video on a good self-care routine for mania? What vitamins would help? Does a healthy diet, esp for your gut help? Should we include exercise too? what about acupuncture, Reiki, and other alternatives? Does CBD really help? what about herbal teas? Mushrooms? MDMA if have PTSD as well? etc I appreciate all of your work. May you have a great week!

I've found that the opposite happens to me. My cycles definitely seem to be influenced by the seasons but I typically start getting manic going into fall/winter, and start crashing come spring/summer time. I've always wondered why this is given most people seem to experience the opposite

Only recently did i realized how much the weather does affect me. Luckly i live in a country were even in winter we do have sunny days and in winter i make a point of going out during sunny hours. But i do have to be carefull when the days are longer bc too much sun does have the opposite effect.

I am going now from mixed mania to angry mania. I take lithium already, helps a lot but I still feel my mood shifting. I feel so pissed with almost everybody.

ialways get manic or hypomanic in the winters and spring and followed by a summer depression and i need fall season to recover from the depression. life is hell.

What if I get depressed in the summer because of the intense heat and unbearably long, bright days but feel at peace in the winter because of the dimmer daytime atmosphere and long, blue, snowy nights?

I knew this had to have been a thing... I don't have bipolar disorder but spring used to feel like a long mixed episode for me until age 23.

Thanks for that information. I have Bipolar type 1 and I am definitely affected. Suddenly not sleeping at all and sudden intense interest in things. I am allowed to have some diazepam and Zolpidem so that I can use them to help get things in control...sleep in particular.
Do the glasses really help?
