It's great to finally see Mon Mothma as a fleahed out character instead of being a glorified extra. You see her daily life her relationships her strength of will despite being serounded by despots she has to mingle with.

Also glad the actress was given the chance after all these years to truly elevate her into.

This is a modern strong female character done properly.

Tony Gilroy, the writing team and O’Reilly really deserve so much applause for turning a background character into one of the most complex and interesting characters. Every scene with her is so tense and I’m excited to see what she does in S2

next to Natalie Portman, Genevieve is my second favorite SW actress. Whenever she is on my screen she has my attention and I can’t wait for her masterful dialogue. Genevieve IS Mon and I thank god for Mr. Gilroy and Dave for including Mon is so many things post ROTS. Can’t wait for Mon to give Papa Palps the royal finger this final season. 🖤

I think Genevieve O'Reilly is a perfect example of when you can re-cast an actor and us nerds do not care as long as it is good. As someone else wrote, "t's great to finally see Mon Mothma as a fleahed out character instead of being a glorified extra." - It is rare we get an amazing backstory to a character that seemed important 30 years ago.
