The problem with modern tennis games is that they value animation over gameplay. Tennis Elbow truly is the best tennis game of the century, other good ones are Mario Tennis, Super Tennis (SNES), Top Spin 3 and Super Blast Tennis, all of them require tweaking of settings to get it right. I’ve played just about every tennis game in existence, and the key problem is that net play is completely overpowered while baseline play is underpowered. All of them have strengths and weaknesses but if you tweak Twnnis Elbow on Tour mode to have juuuust the right settings and difficulty for the CPU, you’ll get quite a lot of hours out of it. I would play it to relax and watch some shows almost every afternoon for about 5 years.

I am Top Spin fan, i played yesterday this game for the first ever and i have to say it is really great ! You have time to think in wich direction you send the ball, it is very enjoyable.. The ball physics are amazing, just play on high close camera to see better ... On 4K it looks really good, ... Even if it's not perfect, i think AO2 is the best tennis game today

Just tried AO2 on PC apart from above commentary i must commend for dev who kept a lot of score, lineman and challenge system intact. First I dived in career mode and try to get used to it.
Took me likes 1 - 2 hours. I will break down my POV with this game with categories.

- Movement to return the ball
Just like in IRL tennis match you need to run or stand in most strategic position on court to able to rush to ball that coming from any direction. Mostly center of court or center of left/right back zone. Which you can make a decision by looking at direction or movement of opponent that will return the ball to you (If you can't stand or find that position you really need strong leg works to rush to ball in time to do a perfect stroke without unforced error)

- Play style and BOT decision
I just learned that opponent bot studying with my play style after awhile. I keep hitting ball to left or right in the corner of court till opponent losing their timing and using sharp volley or smash to prevent them from return the ball. But in next match bot trying to do the same and even counter me with LOB or slice shot. (IRL I also using that play style and rarely using LOB or drop ball because I got very high chance to make unforced error with that kind of shot)

- Unforced Error
I really love this kind of stuff. IRL match I make unforced error alot exp.
Return the ball with wrong part of the racket (LOL) make the ball go out of the court or hit the net.
Serving with incorrect stroke movement and make the ball fly in another direction or even hit the net (happen a lot in slice and top spin serve).
So this system make me having fun with match in game.

That's all my part that i got from the game within 1 - 2 hours feel free to correct my grammar or whatever is incorrect with these comment. :)

TopSpin 4 still remains the best tennis game ever! A bit of tweaks and additions here &there and there you are! It had the best gameplay. It seemed realistic!

My 3 favorite sports are, Football(Soccer), Boxing and Tennis. We have a couple soccer games i can play like Fifa or Pes, but Boxing and Tennis doesn’t get much attention until recently.

The most annoying thing about this game for me is that it's so unforgiving when you don't hit a shot with the right power. I lose games on career mainly just due to the fact that the ball constantly goes out of bounds because I hit it with the slightest wrong amount of power. So frustrating.

I agree. The simulation of sound and ball physics feel amazing. You can even request a number of Hawk-Eye and also react negatively or respectfuly at the end of each point. The only flaw that i really felt was (as everyone says) the incapability of reaching some hard balls, or the player just staying instead of hitting it, sometimes. But at the end, the sensation is pretty authentic, as there's a certain difficulty in each strike (kind of like in real tennis). There are a lot of unforced errors until you learn how to hit it correctly, at the right time, with the right power, and at the right direction, EVERYTIME. It feels like real tennis. We only need another more polished sequel.

Smahs court tennis 2 will always be my favorite tennis game, the game play was solid. And the unlock able characters was fun.
