Russian President Vladimir Putin has described his hour-long meeting with US President Joe Biden as constructive and one lacking in hostility. He was the first of the two Presidents to address the media after their historic summit in Geneva, Switzerland, ended a short time ago.

He confirmed that the country's Ambassadors would be returned to both capitals after both were recalled amid strained relations earlier this year when President Biden referred to his Russian counterpart as a killer.

Topics also ranged from growing concerns around cybersecurity to human rights and efforts to reduce both countries' stockpiles of nuclear weapons.

Sherwin Bryce-Pease has been watching these events in Geneva closely.
