Africa has no challenge of good environment to produce organic food. The government has simply failed on its responsibility to ensure the country is food secure and now they want to get any excuse to cling on.

What about the GMO soya beans that have 'big hormones'- Xeno to fit to the human cell receptors hence causing hormonal imbalance, , and what about the nutritional content of this foods, its the nutritional content/ that makes the food act as 'medicine'. It starts from the good bacteria in soil to the seeds and seedlings used

Why have lots of European countries banned GMO? Ruto is under the influence of the US. The US wants to sell to Kenya.

How come we did not use GMO before? Where did these pests come from? We did not have them in earlier years.

Kenyans are sleepwalking into slavery. In his opening gambit, he said theres a food glut in Europe, which begs the question why does Europe opt to throw their excess food in the sea instead of sharing with Africa?

We have enough land, but Europe dont even want to sell us machinery to grow our own food, instead they want to shove GMO in our face.

He was asked a pertinent question, regarding replanting traditional seeds vs purchasing new GMO seeds at every turn...what happens if they refuse to sell us the seeds.

With corruption in this country, I wonder. We make shortcuts in everything we do.

Fungus will come in due to interference with carbon cycle by use of chemicals which interfere with the ecosystem. Kenya doesn't have biosafety measures to deal with. GMOs are not safe and has been implicated in deases like liver damage, kidney failure. We have seen high rise of cancers, heart problems. Tests are doctored by industry.

GMOs remain banned in Russia, a society with a knack for high technological achievements; there's a reason why

Come on now CT, Ndu, Latiff, dependency is a natural element in the farming ecosystem...farmers already depend on seed companies, if they're not buying seeds they're buying chemicals to fight pests so it's not a new dependence solely because of GMO yeah? It's been there and will be there GMO or not...farmers will be relying on some commercialized element of the modern farming ecosystem.
