Over 537 million people live with diabetes and over 850 million with chronic kidney disease (CKD). In recent decades, both conditions have seen a dramatic increase in cases.
This online event marks the launch of the policy brief “Renewing the Fight: a call to action for diabetes and chronic kidney disease”, developed jointly by the International Diabetes Federation and the International Society of Nephrology. The policy brief outlines the recommendations targeted at policymakers for effectively preventing, managing and treating diabetes and chronic kidney disease.
During this event, speakers detailed the actions required for implementing these recommendations, for better health outcomes for people with diabetes and CKD. Their stories help us understand what living with these conditions means and how better policies can improve lives.
