OMG, I love “Triangle Strategy’s” feature where you can hit a button and get a “Cliff’s Notes” version of who that character is! More games with large casts like that need this QoL improvement!

My top 5 are: Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Dragon Quest XI S, Ys VIII and Shin Megami Tensei V.

Another top RPG in my opinion is Grandia 2, I was extremely happy to see it on the Switch. Game had a phenomenal story, connected well with the characters, and the music was amazing and memorable.

47 hours in into my 1st playthrough of FE3H. Went with Blue Lions.

Music and story are top notch. Deep enough customization. Combat is very good. 10/10 for me.

Not a Top-10 but an RPG that absolutely deserves our love is South Park: The Fractured but Whole. It came to the Switch back when people still said the happy hybrid had no games, it's packed with so much content and humor but at it's core is a very competent RPG.

Your points about Legends: Arceus are so right. I played it recently. And I'm an old, jaded pokemon fanatic. The game is now my favorite pokemon game ever. For that franchise, the amount of advancement in that title is insane. I can finally explore a wilderness full of pokemon in 3D! And yes, the music is extremely well done. It's used somewhat sparingly in the vast open world, but adds so much where it is present. Compared to open world games broadly, it is a humble game. But for a pokemon game, it's innovative and an amazing change-up of the stale formula. Alpha pokemon were a great addition. Getting to free roam around a pokemon battle and get hit by the attacks I command my own pokemon to use was great. Just total fun.

I’m so happy to see Astral Chain on here! I feel like this game isn’t talked about enough. It really is such a unique and brilliantly crafted game-especially being an earlier game on Switch.

My top favorites are Bravely Default 2, Astral Chain, Triangle Strategy, and Fire Emblem Three Houses.

I hear a lot of people saying they like Triangle Strategy more than FE which really surprises me. As a fan of both titles (both are my top player games on my Switch), FE really just offers more. If anything, Triangle Strategy is a nice break from not needing to play 160+ hours to unlock everything. While Triangle Strategy definitely makes my #2 slot, I don’t think we’ve received a game with more heart and gameplay focus than FE.

Triangle Strategy is so slept on. Yes the dialogue is heavy, but man does that story and gameplay just kick it up a notch after the first few chapters. Honestly my favorite RPG of the year.

Mastering astral chain combat is extremely different from any game and if you stop playing for a while, it's like you're relearning everything again.

Great video. #1 is a bit of a fumble at the 1 yard line, for me. Astral Chain was awesome, but it's not an RPG. And if it is, so is Breath of the Wild, which should then elbow its way through this lineup and jump to the front (or near it).
