Entering monk mode: uninstalling YouTube

That’s an amazing message, stop trying to reinvent the wheel and get out of the trap of productivity. Simplicity is the key. You rock it again.

I tried monk mode and it works! I also kept a few habits when I am off monk mode - cancelled some subscriptions, watch less TV in general, read more, in bed early and up early every day ... generally, I feel more productive now.

Simple habits, may sound boring, but they works. I'm following similar one too, but I ride bicycle instead of walking. The sling bag is really cool too, especially personalized message !

Great ideas and points made. With that said I don't think productivity is a trap if it's approached with more intentionality. Instead of trying to do everything, start saying no to most everything and only agree to pursue a few things wether goals or projects that actually line up with your ultimate vision for your work and life. Because the truth people seem to overlook is anytime you say YES to something you are always saying no to something else. The problem with productivity today is nobody wants to say NO they want to do it all. And thats where the trap actually is. I do this myself by being relentless with putting most everything in a "someday maybe" folder and only having in front of me a few key projects and goals I want to do RIGHT NOW. As I complete them then I can revisit my someday maybe folder and pick the next 1 to 2 goals or projects I want to pursue.

Good stuff! For some reasons I'm more of an evening routine kinda person. I try to keep my morning routine as short as possible (shower, meditate, breakfast) and have my evening routine be a bit longer with reading, stretching and planning the next day ahead.

Love this thought process Robert, I too have been victim to pursuing the endless rabbit hole of productivity, and this seems a great way to simplify things yet still move the needle forward. Thanks and keep it up! FULL TIME CREATOR LETS GO!

Your videos are simply so soothing to watch. Sometimes when I watch other productivity/self-discipline videos they got me more anxious because i feel like there are more things I need to do for changing. But your video just reminds me of the simple fact that things take time lolll
Thanks Robert for another great video!! ^^

Amazing, Robert!
We really don't care about the quantity of videos you're posting, but about the quality of them! And you're making a great work!
thanks for sharing!

totally agree, trying to be productive 24/7 ain't sustainable for the long run. As long as you're putting in at least 2 hours into work that matters, you will grow in the long run. The Key is staying consistent. Find a routine you can stick to for years. And it's not about going into full monk mode for 1 week and then going back to your old routine. Great Message and overall great video!

Thank God! (Even though I'm not Christian.) Finally, there's a YouTuber who knows what he's talking about when it comes to Monk Mode. He doesn't overly describe the method, he doesn't show off, and most importantly, he actually learned the way of Buddhism

Hi Robert. I have just watched a few videos made by you, and I'd like to say "thank you!" for taking a healthy, logical approach to productivity. I sincerely hope you make many more videos to inspire us (few and high quality ones as this particular one). Greetings from Turkey-you've just made someone (an introvert) really happy.

I like how you don't post videos regularly, it builds up the anticipation every time you put up a new upload.

Excellent video, thank you for posting! I just found this channel so I'm looking forward to watching your other videos (the only other one I've watched so far is your simple Notion video, also great). The "non-negotiable" mindset is great, as long as you don't make yourself crazy as mentioned. The only one I add is a gratitude practice - religious, non-religious, whatever. Helps keep things in perspective.
