What I liked the most in this video is how even though they made the characters 3D, you can still see Reverse 1999's style in them.

Them being 3D didn't change their design to conform to the "Hoyo-standard of anime characters" that we're seeing from many gachas.

Bluepoch still kept firm at the stylistic choices for Re1999 even if it went from 2D to 3D.

That's COMMITTMENT.

it's time for my usual ted-talk vomit in the comments...

"Vereinsamt" (1884, "Grown Lonely")

Vereinsamt is a poem by Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) about a Freigeist (lit. "freespirited [person]", I'll explain more later) being destined to wander about in the wilderness, never halting, never resting, with no place to call home (essentially - isn't that what our dear Timekeeper is?). The second part of the poem answers the problem with returning back to the [very] German hearth and home so we'll ignore that one....

Freigeist (Free thinker, libertine)

A Freigeist was the term for someone in the 18th century believing in the freedom of not being constrained by traditional customs or norms from religion. Especially relevant for publicists (considering that back then, censoring was way more rampant than it is now) and artists (remember my ted-talk vomit about the Wiener Secession? they would be considered Freigeister) and the art scene, while unorthodox, following this way of thinking was to result in morally correct actions - or at the very least to wise actions.

During their time, it was mostly critical thinkers and publishers who would receive this "honorary title", even if initially, anti-Freigeister would accuse them of being amoral and atheist. However, a Freigeist (at least in a German context) is not to be just reduced to sexual self-realization or the unrestrained pursuit of your own desires, to the detriment of your own self or others.

Regarding Lucy

Lucy's design reminds me of Metropolis (1927), a feature-length silent movie directed by Fritz Lang (1890-1976). Itself an adaptation of the novel by the same name penned by Thea von Harbou (1888-1954), it features the classic motive of the class struggle in a highly mechanised world with oversized machines as well as a "Maschinenmensch" (lit. machine human, mechanized human). I highly recommend you guys check it out by yourselves, so I'm not going to spoil anything - just wait until you get to the middle of the movie and you'll understand my reference!

Semmelweis

Ignaz Semmelweis (1818-1865) was a doctor in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He discovered that childbed fever was due to a lack of hygiene and practiced evidence-based medicine. Thanks to him, thousands of mothers survived the critical time after childbirth and didn't catch infections. Unfortunately, most doctors didn't take him seriously since they considered hygiene a waste of time and adherence to it as contrary to the - back then - main theories regarding sources and conditions of illnesses. He was put into psychiatric care and died to unknown causes - even the report detailing the exhumation of Semmelweis' corpse contained contradictions and left more questions unanswered.

My thought on this trailer: first of course, free 6 star!!! And it's a vampire. Yesssa!!!

Second, madam lucy is actually a real robot not a lady in robot suit really surprised me.

Third, that jessica and regulus. Is that a new skin or a variant unit? Cause those ult animation is really elaborate for just some skin.

And of course finally the continuation of main story.

Man the dev really going all out and this is just the 1st anniversary.

Would like Enigma, but eh, Lucy it is. At least after I get Isolde, I'll be saving for Kakania next since I like her design. Also, free 6 star arcanist! Love Semmelweis' design too!
