Allah knows what is best for you - Mufti Menk

Allah knows what is best for you. The Quran says, "And Allah knows and you do not know." (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:216)

Allah is the Creator of all things, and He knows everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen. He knows your innermost thoughts and feelings, and He knows what is in your best interests, even if you do not.

This does not mean that you should not ask Allah for what you want. In fact, the Quran encourages us to make dua, or supplication, to Allah. But when we make dua, we should have faith that Allah will give us what is best for us, even if it is not what we asked for.
