AutoCAD Tutorial: How to Customize Commands with the .pgp file

In todays video I go over how to change the -C- command in autocad from circle to copy. This can be especially useful if you tend to use the copy command more often than the circle command like I do!

This technique can be used to also add your own commands or to customize any other existing text command in autocad.

Thank you. You can also just type "reinit" (reinitialize) and tick the pgp box, to save reloading.

This is the most important thing to adjust to draft as quickly as possible.  Commands are instant.

Why would you make Circle CI? The whole point is to put the commands on your left hand for instant activation. I make Copy=C, Circle=CC, Line=A, Pline=AS, Move=G, Pedit=QW, MatchProp=VA
If another command is already using those letter then simply change that one as well.

Great video, however I would suggest a better method of adding commands. Simply add commands you want to change to the file at the very end. The commands at the very end will load last and override anything above. That way you don't risk messing up the other command aliases and you don't have to pick through the file to try and remember what the default alias was. Also, you can easily copy and paste your favorites to different versions of AutoCAD.

Hello When I type find file on command line it says:


Command: (findfile -acad.pgp-) ; error: bad argument type: stringp nil


When I type any command for example line "l" it says this: Unknown command "L". Press F1 for help.
Can you please help?

AUTOCAD makes it more and more chopped up 
to compensate for a lack of development. . 
.how about proper parametrics?
how about a simple drag click for custom menus?
3d?
just annoying.
solidworks has it but a 2d version would be so simple for most things.
