For 25 bananas that Ltd was a great score Mr Z! It's nice yo see that you take the time and effort to give these old guitars a second life so they can be enjoyed and played again!👍😎

Wow bro that really cleaned up nice! It doesn't even look like the same guitar. That sounds awesome and I love the reverse headstock. You'll have no problem selling that. Thanks for the great episode Zane!

Zimm. Thanks for filling me in today on the phone call here Chris from Florida. I appreciate your information knowledge and feedback on your inventory. And yes this is easier more than picture on your website. A very up close and virtual look at what might be for sale. Plus you have 1 more subscriber. This man knows his stuff and is pretty dead on with his prices. Thanks Zimm. You rock brother.

On the first franken strat that didnt have a floyd rose, evh said he use to spin the ball end of the string while winding the peg, keeping twist out of the string untill it was tight. Also, if your dive bombing on a regular tremelo with out locking nuts, when you come back up give the bar a tug upwards, and tug it past the release point, so when you release the bar, it was coming down. The bar never pulls itself up in tune, but if you raise it a little bit before you release it, it pops the strings in tune better.

Being the 'local custodian of guitar crap and cheap repairs' of my area I am jealous of your find.
My trouble is im normally too itching to clean 'em and i forget the before pictures lol

The BL stands for B=Bridge and L=Lidia the person who wound it and it is an Invader.

Cool video. That guitar had a lot of DNA on it. You've saved another one.

To be honest - on this one, I really like the vibe of it pretty much as is. This is a guitar that has seem some serious "stuff" and it has the scars and non-stock bits of hardware to prove it.
I would have possibly put the rail pickup in the neck position and a black single coil into the middle. (maybe the original neck one with a black cover).
Obviously all the wiring would need to be checked and it really did need that clean - but an early LTD, that has been hot-rodded with an SD Invader, a rail mini-bucker and Spurzel's is just COOL in my books. The non-matching saddle on the bridge is just part of it's charm.

The bare bones are there for a total Wilkinson pickup build. If the tuners are Sperzel, clean those up and add a new Wilkinson bridge, buff it, and someone is good to go with a really decent guitar.

The problem with the string is that those are staggered post. This does not work well with reverse headstocks because the ones that are further away from the nut have a smaller hole. They are expecting the B and High E string and not the low E and A string.

Trevor Wilkinson also worked on the Encore budget brand electric guitars.

I thought the neck had to be straight before you level and crown the frets.

I had a cheap ltd ec-100 from the first run 2001 and that was hands down the best neck ever, I have a shecter 006 from the same year and the neck is identical.

I'm "that guy" who loves B.C.Rich and BC only. I managed to hold on to my 1987 BCR Ironbird NJ series with the Kahler Flyer on it. I absolutely love it. I got it for Christmas in 1987.
