It's crazy how Miky has supported Perkz, Caps and Rekkles. The top three contenders for best european player of all time.

It's crazy how after having the same G2 for years one player leaving (Perkz) can have that much impact on the team.

Would've called g2's tragedy the "perkz effect"

The saddest thing about this is that we won't get to see the awesome jungle/supp duo that was Jankos/Miky... which arguably was the best jgl/supp duo in the west.

you can pair the best players but it doesn't matter if they don't have synergy in and out of game

it sucks when two of the best in their roles dont work well together Sadge

I think as much as they played bad in fnc series upset and hyli was that good same goes for the mad lions bot lane they are pretty weak compares to other bot laners lanenings

If someone told me G2 wouldn’t stomp LEC and make semis at worlds after spring regular season I wouldn’t believe it

All of the comments about Miky's synergy with Rekkless as being lacking because Rekkless is passive in playstyle are missing the mark a bit I think. Rekkless certainly takes less risks than Perkz which definitely means he has less comeback potential but not that he's passive. Rekkless never single handedly lost a game. He may not have turned around lost team fights but he didn't single handedly grief lane or die randomly in a side lane.

Moreover for years on FNC Rekkless consistenly had one of the most aggressive supports and it was fine. The problem is that Rekkless and Mikyx are both passive in communication.

If you watch Perkz and Hyli they are clear in comms about when to go and what they want in a given situation. That's particularly important in teamfights --- which used to be G2's strengths but where they clearly faltered this year without Perkz.

If there's a lack of synergy between players it doesn't mean that one is necessarily worse than the other in the role. But Perkz was clearly better WITH Miky because he would make decisions BUT ALSO follow Miky into precarious situations/engages so quickly that bad plays would become miracle plays since they were so unexpected but well executed. Miky as a player takes a lot of risks and he needs adcs who are willing to go in on the coin flip.

While Miky is a great support, Grabbz stated in several talkshows that what G2 lacked was a natural leader.
Jankos took this role somewhat but it's out of his character.
More often than not, it is expected that the role of shotcaller falls on either Jungle or Support. Since G2 keeps Jankos, then they need to find a Support that can fill that role and work in tandem with him. For this reason, replacing MikyX makes sense although it is hard to swallow because he is highly talented.

I'm not saying Rekkles is a bad ADC, cause let's be honest, the dude is a legend, but he's lacking aggressive playstyle and some other stuff. I think it's really really sad that G2 is getting rid of Miky. Miky wasn't the problem imo. I think if Rekkles forgets about this supersafe playstyle, and goes a bit more ham it'd be great for him.
If you got a racecar you can't just drive it in a city going at 30km/h only all the time.

The problem was dat altho that was the best combo their playstyle dont match at all g2 is the kind of team to go really aggro like deft while rekkless just wanna farm and play carefully and passive so yeah their synergy as a whole didn't matched up at all

This is why I want Mikey to stay. His aggressive play style is almost exact opposite of rekless. Same as the rest of G2.

Wtf is wrong with the comment section, everything is parroting the same thing that Rekkles and Mikyx didn't work because Rekkles is bad and passive like wtf? People seem to forget that Rekkles was spring mvp, they didn't work because Wunder stayed terrible the whole year and Caps became dogshit this summer, making Mikyx roaming useless. G2 were the best because their solo laners were playing well unlike this year where Wunder got gapped whole season and Caps coinflipping his lane.

all the silver noobs in the replies bandwagoning the rest of delusional g2 fans that rekkles is "passive" or a "kda player".

this year it was just plain supp diff. ppl in the replies who are saying rekkles didn't grow as a player are delusional. in fact it was g2, specifically mikyx who didn't grow to play around rekkles' playstyle.

bot lane is a two player effort and winning lane is always determined by the better supp. mikyx was roaming 80% of the time while rekkles played weak side. wunder underperformed and so did caps. when you have someone like rekkles on your team, he's that late game assurance but what can he do when his team is busy inting.

bandwagoners all calling him passive but there's only a single game where i can remember he got scared and that was the tristana game, the rest of time he was trying his best to be aggressive and yeah don't expect him to front line and engage when he's only an adc.

i can't take any of u ppl seriously esp when hyli-rekkles was arguably the best bot lane duo in the whole of worlds and hyli is very "aggressive" and he learnt to play around rekkles which in turn allowed rekkles to pop off and do rekkles things.

miky and rekless have completely diff playstyles hop off ur copium

Out of those 3 that got kicked, Micky was objectivly the best, but he got hit ricochet by Rekkless deffensive playstyle combined with Micky offensive one. And its really fucking hard for G2 and Jankos especially to not be able to play around botlane that is perma weakside while your toplane is perma weakside cuz he's geting gapped by 80% toplaners this year

Mikyx always runs it down during playoffs or Worlds so it's very hard to win anything with him vs good teams, really sad but G2 had to move on if they want to be relevant in the future.

Asuras

coz your top lane is not doing good all the time and caps have a poor performance

Yo they decided to rebuild, each one of the players and including coaching staff have achievements that talk for themselves, they are not with g2 anymore not because they are bad (except wunder, the guy got giga gapped), but because they decided to change. If they really were deciding this based on performance only, caps too would have been kicked, cuz the guy played shit this year, no doubt (compared to rekkles and mikyx)
