The Patna High Court has overturned the Bihar government's decision to raise the quota for backward classes to 65 percent. In its ruling, the court stated that this increase violated Articles 14, 15, and 16 of the Constitution and exceeded constitutional limits. The revised reservation scheme allocated 20 percent for Scheduled Castes, 2 percent for Scheduled Tribes, and 43 percent for Other Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes, reducing the open merit category to 35 percent.

Then, from same logic EWS is invalid as it breached 50% ceiling. But, No. No one talks about breaching 50% ceiling for EWS, but will bring 50% ceiling only for OBC, SC, ST reservation. 😅😅
