I loved this series from beginning to end. Disagree with your thoughts on rushed romance. Both leads were excellent actors, had chemistry, did a lot between the lines, I felt the feelings developed beautifully between them. Also liked most of supporting cast. CGI was great, beautiful scenery and good fighting scenes. Many humorous situations in the storyline also. May end up as one of my top 10 favorites. Thoroughly enjoyed it!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I love this cdrama whatever it takes regardless of the standard of others. It's my favorite for this year. It's the best wuxia because it light and understandable for viewers who are not fan of complicated stories. I was looking forward for the reunion of the main leads.

It is hard to please anyone in general. Everyone have a preference so that is fine. I didn’t like princess Agent so watching this drama had nothing to do with it. But I do enjoy this drama a lot. It worth a rewatch. I haven’t rewatch any drama since 2017 (TMOPB).

People said plot is lightweight but I think it is right because it fit under 40 episode requirements. Doesn’t feel rushed. As for rush in falling in love, I think it is hard to explain why they love each other in the drama as well as the novel. Based from what i heard for novel reader, ML felt in love with Shenli at first sight. When she transformed into human form in mortal world, he immediately transformed her back to bird form worrying in developing more emotion. Took him a while to learn how much she meant for him because the guy live so long without knowing that feeling and because he can’t so he been suppressed it. She felt in love because she basically forgot she is a woman. All the fighting and solder life. He show her what it feel like to care for and protected like a woman. Drama doesn’t have girl fall off a tree and catch by a ML scene and the gaze at each other then love bloom. To me that is cheesy.

They film in 2022 and now released. They put a lot of effort in making it perfect. The music, CGI, and fighting scenes are perfect. Chinese drama are quick to release and quality are lacking. This is an exception for me.

I fell in love the moment the cute but egoistic chicken waved her warrior stick at the mere mortal. At that point, I knew this drama was for keeps and it would win many other hearts, too.

It didnt deviate much from the novel it was based on. It was a great adapation. My favorite drama of 2024.

I don't know what people expected. They're supposed to be thousands of years old dieties did you really expect a steamy teenage-romance drama? Think about it before whining, it was most probably a deliberate decision to keep romance on the lighter and mature side.

I'm struggling to finish it. The flaws far outweigh the good parts and it's gotten boring. They totally messed up the anticipated romance....never got a grounding and so it fell flat and never engaged the viewer. None of the characters could be rooted for because they never felt real. Cardboard cutouts all the way. Totally disappointed.

I want to like this but I can't. I had such high expectations for this but I was so disappointed because it was sleep-inducingly dull. The plot progression moves at a snail's pace and the scenes felt so random to me. If you like the leads, then I suppose you wouldn't be bothered by this, but I don't, so I found myself skipping scenes all the time, wondering if the story is actually going to go somewhere any time soon. I don't care about their ages, I actually don't mind older actors as leads but I just don't see their appeal as a couple and this is a romance-centered drama. I was hoping for more depth, political intrigues and machinations, but sadly, there's isn't a lot going on in this drama. Zhao Liying is great but I never quite understood the fascination for her pairing with Lin Geng Xin. And that is why this is a complete miss for me. I don't get why people love it, but to each their own.

I kept watching until about episode 15. I got annoyed that they went back to the mortal realm, it felt like the story was going backwards and it never really moved forward after Shen Li returned to the Spirit Realm. I think it suffers the common C-Drama problem which is that it had too many episodes so there's was too much "will they, won't they" filler where the Male Lead loves Shen Li, but won't tell her that he was the mortal that she fell in love with.

Everyone has their own set of standards and everyone expects those standards to be met. I agree with most of what Chinese Starlet said, but I still found it worth watching once...until the last episode...that was a complete waste of time.

I love the female lead in other dramas like legend of Fei, Princess Agent, but here she was mediocre. I’m also a huge fan of Kenny Lin but he’s performance here is lackluster. I saw 2 episodes and I’m pretty much done.

at least the guy does not look like he still does not have a driving licence, woman ok too, looks grown up. plot same old same old same old- the ‚romance‘ never sizzles. dumb cgi battles. dropped it for now
