Communication is really the key skill. If you don't communicate the right way at the right time it wouldn't matter how much you know. Its important to learn the art of presenting yourself even if you know nothing at early stages of your career. I’ve been silent for years and I learn to communicate better now, I can tell things are changing for better.

I want to be a vet, or a doctor, soft skills are having good communication with your peers, loving animals, working as a team, stress management, following the roles etc. The hard skills are: having a good stomach, knowing how to do operations, being smart and intelligent.

I struggle with effective listening. I know that its a skill I really need to work on. Most of time I feel like I don’t want to listen and interrupt people.

How do I answer this question if my soft skills are. It great due to anxiety disorder. I have made a lot of progress with cognitive restructuring and medication. I’m embarrassed to ask this question because I don’t want to misrepresent myself.

Hard skills help you to complete your daily task even with the most complicated tasks, while soft skills help you to collaborate and communicate your thinking to other people. Hard skills are more important in general if your work mostly involving accuracy, e.g. engineer, accountant, data entry, scientist, etc. Soft skill are more important if your work mostly involving people, e.g. marketing, sales, managers, etc. Doctor/physician requires hard skills to cure diseases, but they also require soft skills as well when communicate to patient. Even if you work as engineer which requires you to prioritize your hard skills, you still have to develop soft skills in order for you to convey your thinking and your request to other people with respect and without hurting other people.
