I just finished My Best Friend's Exorcism today! I did grow up with a best friend in the 80s (in a religious conservative setting, too), so it was perfect for me 😄

I agree with your opinion on A Fire Endless! I definitely enjoyed A River Enchanted, but the conclusion of the duology was even better!

I read Mexican Gothic last year for Halloween, and this year I read Silver Nitrate. Very different time period and characters, a totally different premise, but still had that same style and emphasis on Mexican culture and history.

Thank you for talking about the feminist issues in Red Rising. Apperently "women in refrigerator" is alive and well. I stopped reading after 1/10th of the book because of it and I'm bothered nobody else was bothered.

When i read The Guest by Emma Cline i felt like i was holding my breath the entire time but the ending was a bit disappointing to me. Im still glad i read it and if you did like this book then i recommend The Girls by Emma Cline. I read that book when it first came out but it still lives rent free in my head. It is has the same uncomfortable feeling of being on edge but i loved the premise a lot more. It is loosely based off of the manson murders. Thanks Reagan for being so consistent with your channel and i have found many beloved books thanks to you and your in depth reviews!

Ahhh! I SO agree with my best friends exorcism; I liked it just fine, but wanted more horror as well so it was just good imo!

I loved White Hot as well! All the books in this series are good but I think the first two were the best as they centered on Nevada and Rogan.

Ilona Andrews are just so fun to read! I love the OG paranormal romance genre. In description, it could be similar to fantasy romance and yet doesn’t have the same vibes at all.
Maybe because many of them have a « mystery of the week » and while young, most MCs are adults in their 20s…who knows? Ilona Andrews’ work are a staple, some of my other favorites are the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs and The Hollows/Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison. It’s just a lot of fun!
