Take this English vocabulary quiz for the upper-intermediate level and see how many answers you can get right.
Practice verb + noun collocations. Your task is to complete the sentences with the correct form of the verbs. When discussing verb and noun collocations, it’s important to note that they are not just random combinations of words; rather, they are defined as a pair or group of words which people often use together. For example "make an effort" is a phrase commonly used in casual conversation, while "put forward" is more often used in a business setting. Knowing these pairings and the context in which they are used can be very beneficial in both spoken and written language. They help add more precision to your conversations by avoiding any ambiguities and making sure the meaning is easily understood by those around you.
