Radiotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC):

Types:

1. External beam radiation therapy (EBRT)
2. Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT)
3. Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)
4. Proton therapy

Indications:

1. Early-stage NSCLC (stage I-II)
2. Locally advanced NSCLC (stage III)
3. Palliative care for advanced NSCLC (stage IV)

Benefits:

1. Curative treatment for early-stage NSCLC
2. Improved local control and survival in locally advanced NSCLC
3. Symptom relief in advanced NSCLC
4. Reduced risk of bleeding and coughing

Side effects:

1. Fatigue
2. Skin irritation
3. Esophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus)
4. Pneumonitis (inflammation of the lungs)
5. Radiation pneumonitis (inflammation of the lungs due to radiation)
6. Chest pain
7. Shortness of breath
8. Coughing

Dose and fractionation:

1. EBRT: 60-70 Gy in 30-35 fractions
2. SBRT: 40-60 Gy in 3-5 fractions
3. IMRT: 60-70 Gy in 30-35 fractions

Treatment planning:

1. CT simulation
2. PET-CT scan
3. MRI scan
4. Tumor contouring
5. Organs-at-risk contouring
6. Dose calculation and optimization

Follow-up care:

1. Regular CT scans
2. PET-CT scans
3. Clinical evaluations
4. Symptom management

Note: Radiotherapy for NSCLC should be individualized and discussed with a radiation oncologist.
