As a cameraman shooting mostly low budget run and gun documentaries, news work and occasionally music videos, the main reason I am interested in the A1 is precisely that it doesn't have a flip screen. I would have bought a A7S3 except for that damn flip screen getting in the way of sound and headphone cables. A flip screen is also more fragile, less discrete and you have to look on the side instead of being aligned with the lens. True, they might be great for vloggers but imho that's about it.
As far as I can see The A1 seems to be almost the perfect camera except for it's price... I just wish for the coming A74 to have a good quality, bright and simple tilt screen, and 4K 50P 10 Bit.

So many gigs demand both video and photo now that the A1 is a run and gun beast in that regard. The dual native ISO at 4000 helps in low light for sketchy lighting situations for video and the 50mp for photos is handy for any reframing needed + you don't need to carry two bodies, just grab one and go

Great review. The A1 is definitely targeted at pro photogs first, then everything else second. It just happens to do most of the 'everything else' really fucking well. Market FLEX - completely agreed!
