Midnight in Harlem is something you'll just have to watch because you have never seen a slide player like Derek . He's simply the best !

The obvious connection is Bonnie Raitt but I do want to mention that Angel of Montgomery was written by John Prine, without whom, folk and blues would be very different today.

They’re the direct “descendants” of the Allman Brothers Band! I saw Derek perform in London, Ontario when he was a “tween” and he was awesome way back then!
They’re the best live band touring today!
Peace

I'm a 71 year old guitar player and I think Derek Trucks is the best guitar player around today.

Derek is the home of the soul of Duane Allman. Duane is considered to be the Godfather of the electric slide guitar. His untimely death at 24 years old, left a void in the guitar universe. I believe that soul wandered looking for a home to continue on with and I believe Derek became that home. Derek plays the way Duane would have had he lived. Derek has been playing on stage since he was 10. By 13 he was a regular featured slide player for The ABB. B.B. King called him the best he's heard. He and Susan met and for a longtime tried to make room for each other in their hectic touring lives. Finally, they decided the only way they could date is if they got married. They also decided that they would join their two bands together and tour. They told their respective bands they were welcome to join together with them and make one big band. Some members chose to move in a different direction knowing the door was always open to them to come back. They still have that policy and from time to time old members like JJ Johanson (Jaimoe) has come back a couple of times. He was one of the founding members of The ABB. Today he is the last of the original band still living. Derek's Uncle Butch was also an original member of ABB as a drummer.
Susan has the best Blues voice out there. She also is a very good Blues guitarist and has a solo or two each concert set.

2 guitars, bass, key board, 2 drummers, flute, trumpet, sax, trombone, and 3 backup singers that are sometimes lead singers, percussionist, and guitarist. Love TTB!

You are in for the ride of your life with these guys! He is probably the most talented guitarist currently playing. She's an amazing soulful singer. Midnight in Harlem, Anyhow, Soul Sweet Song....don't stop reacting to these guys.

Sebs TTB Are simply the best touring band out there bar none, you have already had great advice from many . 2022 privileged to see them live in a small intimate theatre and close up seats . Every single musician exceptional but Derek simply has to be mentioned . Absolutely made my jaw drop listening to him, and made me giggle like a teenager not believing quite what I was witnessing … Sebs when you go discover Derek your jaw will drop too at his playing …PHENOMENAL ❤❤❤ And man yes indeed go discover Midnight in Harlem ..

You should check out their "Tiny Desk Concert" - amazing! Susan Tedeschi (pronounced teh-DES-ski) has such a soulful blues voice, and Derek Trucks was a child guitar prodigy that played legendary guitar for the Alman Bros Band and Eric Clapton, then he and his wife formed their own band and tour around making sweet, sweet music together!

I loved Susan and Derek as solo artists - even more so since they got together. Another vote for 'Hurts so Bad' and 'Midnight in Harlem'. As a parent, you should listen to 'Lord Protect My Child', but only if you don't mind possibly crying on camera...

My son took me to my first TTB concert for my birthday 3 years ago. We had front row center seats. Got to meet the band after the show. Susan was very sweet and I have several pictures with them. Great group of musicians and great people. I've seen them 3 more times, but the 1st time was one of the best experiences I've ever had.

Tedeschi Trucks band is, hands down, the best live show out there right now. the musicianship up and down the lineup is 2nd to none. Obviously everyone is raving about Midnight in Harlem, but the song "Anyhow" Live in Studio is right up there with anything else they've done.

I first met Susan back in 1998 when I booked her for a blues festival. Everyone there that day knew they were seeing a future star. It’s been wonderful to watch her spectacular career, and see her perform with her band at large arenas.

Check out “Any Day”, which was recorded live at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival, and was one of his song’s.

Just so ya' know. Kofi Burbridge passed a little over 5 years ago. TDB is a VERY Deep Dive. They have songs and performances that are going to blow your mind. You might wanna' look up when Sue shared the stage with the late Sharon Jones. And if Nirvana is your chosen destination? Herbie Hancock's Space Captain (a cover) featuring Tedeschi Trucks is your Huckleberry 😉
