GPS Flight Recorder - «Click & Go» Piloting Mode

As black boxes are standard on commercial aircrafts, Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 will
now have the option to utilize the new Flight Recorder system, which can save
flight data and GPS-localized information.

Thanks to the Flight Recorder module, the pilot and its quadricopter and geolocalized on a map. One click on the piloting smartphone or tablet screen and pilot defines a
destination. After adjusting the flight altitude and speed, the Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 will reach the selected destination (depending on Wi-Fi range).

We can't wait to try the 'Click & Go' Piloting Mode function ourselves, to fly our AR.Drone 2.0 exactly where we want it!

The new Flight Recorder will also hold the AR.Drone 2.0 in position better, by using it's GPS facility to improve stability even further, for taking the best possible pictures and videos.

AR Drone 3.0 - Got to have Auxillary power output controlled by the app to allow remote turn on and off of mod lights, And a speaker and microphone positioned away from the noise of the aircraft to allow recording and remote communication between the iPad and someone standing near the drone. Would be awesome if other technologies could be used since wifi is so short.

AR.Drone is really nice, I love both of mine. I would suspect that the range limitation is for public safety and battery reliability. The temptation to send the ship far afield, would result in many lost drones due to a failed RTH because of low voltage.

It should be possible to program a trajectory for the drone, even out of wifi range, for it to fly and for it to return at the end inside wifi range with the recorded footage

Agree with Geoff W. However, guys, in the CES 2013 video, it was sais that the "soon to be released" GPS module used with a COS flight planning software would allow the drone to fly autonomous...So is it possible ?

So u need wi fi to go in the maps for way point because the iPod touch need a wi fi to into into maps so this only go for iPhone wright?

So it has to be within a wifi zone to use the IPad? Can I use my IPhone? Would I have to have cell coverage for it or is there another signal between the phone and the unit?

'Within the limits of the wi-fi'... doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose? I would want to fly my drone further than my wi-fi can go, it does make sense but it could be better.
