How to thin out your hair with shears or a razor

This video shows you two methods of how to thin out long hair, whether it's straight or curly. I'm a licensed hairstylist with 6 years of salon experience. You should be able to find the required tools at most beauty supply stores.

By far the beat technique to thin out hair. Far better than just thinning shears. It makes a huge difference!

Thanks for posting this video! I have a beautiful hand sewn hairpiece that I paid $800 for several ago because I'm losing my hair due to a neurological medical condition. It's looks great but feels so heavy & unnatural on top & the sides because my hair is naturally thin. I cut my hair from another YouTube video I saw & it turned out great & looked for a video about thinning hair & found yours. Put my hair in a ponytail, put my hairpiece on & followed your video & it turned out great! I did trim all around it (accept the front) though because it's a hairpiece, but started a few inches below the crown & stopped a few inches from the bottom.
