Performed LIVE by Charlotte Poulter (Harpist) and Marianne Lihannah (Singer)
Trad. Welsh Folk Song with an arrang. inspired by Meinir Heulyn’s arrangement.
This is a Welsh folk song in which the melody uses the ancient Dorian mode. It was collected in 1908 in Whitchurch, Cardiff by Mrs. Mary Davies.
In this love song. it is sung from a man's point of view and the ‘lover’ actually plays the harp to the beloved.
‘There is the harp, there are her strings; What better am I, without anyone to play her for?’

All the best
Charlotte Poulter & Marianne Lihannah
