I initially thought they're being tortured (though I know some don't really think much of ants) but further research told me that they actually exist in nature.

For people confused these are honeypot ants they normally get fed lots of food and storage it in there abdomen they also have another stomach to eat and digest the food. They are very important ants to the colony as in winter the ants can't go out so they rely on the sweet nectar that these ants produce.

For those confused: These are honey pot ants. Some workers will gorge themselves causing their abdomen to swell like this, and then distribute it amongs thebother ants for nourishment through regurgitation. These ants are viewed as leaders in the colony.

For anyone who is curious ants have something called social stomachs in their abdomen (butt) and they are responsible for feedind and rehydrating the colony and what is happening here is the owner of these ants took some liquid and put food coloring in it. The ants slurped it up into their social stomachs to distribute to the rest of the colony which is why their butts make a rainbow. The more you know🌈🌟

For those who DONT know what these are:they are honeypot ants and they can pop if you squeeze them. So you always have to be careful when you handle these. (And btw thats food coloring that they ate so thats why its so colorful) i hope this helps!❤
