'Take Me To The Rock' | Tommy Walker & Eileen Walker

This song is written from Psalm 61, in which David is writing from a low, weary, dangerous, and – far from God – place. What can be somewhat confusing, and yet wonderful, is that David prays to be taken to the Rock that is high above, and simultaneously to God Himself!

Often when we are at our lowest point, we don’t have the strength to get to God on our own, we need His intervention. Our God invites us to boldly cry out to Him, like the Psalmist did: “Lord, I’m here in this valley, HELP ME! Lead me and take me up to where You are!” That is the prayer and promise of this song, that God WILL in fact lift us to Himself!

Matt. 7:24-27 NIV “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
