The exact same incident happened with a USPS mail carrier in San Diego last year or maybe 2019. They were fired after an investigation and then arrested on animal cruelty charges by San Diego PD.
I know that many mail carriers have been bitten by dogs and that they are barked at all day long esp. on walking routes, so they are rightfully fearful of dogs, but to spray an animal behind a fence?! That is not justified!

I once caught our mail carrier, sharing a sandwich with our German shepherd. Every dog in the neighborhood loved the guy.😎

I know it’s not right try carrying mail for a while you get tired of dogs barking had many close calls got bit my last year many postal carriers get hurt by dogs!

Stopped the barking.
Many many many postal carriers have been severely mauled by dogs. I think the dogs are on top of this battle.

I can understand the postman reaction... it is pretty annoying dogs to bark you. Owners should keep annoying dogs away from public traffic areas. It just mess up peace and harmony..
