What’s your favourite restaurant in Prague?

I went to three of these restaurants on our trip to Prague in September. I took a foodie tour with Taste of Prague and they took us to Lokal and Kantyna. We went to Tiskarna on our own. All were good, but the best restaurant I've been to in Prague was one that we went to in 2019. It was Restaurace U Bansethu in Prague 4. I had duck there that was so good. We were in Paris a couple of weeks later and the French version, canard confit, didn't even come close.

Seeing the dumplings uncut gave me an "ah ha" moment. The first time I had a dish with dumplings, I was like, "where's the dumplings? and why are there slices of bread?"

Haha, makes sense now.

Living in New York, I am blown away with how cheap it is! I cannot wait to get back to Prague! Thanks for a great video.

GREAT STUFF RPGs!!! I am looking at your bills at the end of each segment. Last night my wife and I went to Beef o" Brady's here in Lake Jackson Texas. It is a chain of inexpensive restaurants here in the US, they are not nor do they pretend to be 5 star but tasty for a quick meal. Our bill was the equivalent of about 40 euro. This is why Americans think Prague is such a great value. To eat a a true 5 stare here in the Houston area, dinner for two could easily be 150 euro.

I go to Prague up to 4 times a year sometimes, because I love the city and the country (yes, I do travel around as well) and one of the things that pull me back to Prague (and Brno) are the excellent, truly excellent vegan restaurants, bistros and other likewise options. I think this is a huge selling point and it's one of the first things I mention when people ask me why I go to Prague so often. It would be great if you could highlight this aspect of Prague/Czechia as well sometime.

As a Hungarian, I protest about the 'goulash'. This is a soup whose name comes from the Hungarian word "gulya" (=herd). Real goulash is made only from beef.

You can’t go wrong with gravy! I don’t like how only one company owns so many restaurants. I hope you have a video of where you actually eat.

I tried both the svickova and the goulash at Tiskarna and both were delicious. Thank you Valery for suggesting both the restaurant and the dishes.

😂😂😂 great video as always, we did not eat in any of the places you recommended, basically because I couldn’t remember and we where happy just to eat wherever we were. We tried lots of traditional dishes, but after 4 days couldn’t eat another dumpling🤪. But food, service and costs were all pretty good everywhere we eat. They have the same pudding in Austria called Gemmenoodle or something like that, I use to have one on the slopes in Kitzbuhel👍

Terrific video. Really like your irreverent, down-to-earth approach to showing people your city. Will look to see if you have recommendations for less “posh” restaurants.

Thanks for the video. You definitely had me licking my chops, but always remember, “When in doubt, pinky out”. Love you and stay well.
