Spirit Chaser (Treasure of the Rudras) - GaMetal Remix

It's JRPG time! Here's a killer track from the Super Famicom game Treasure of the Rudras, Surlent's boss fight theme "Spirit Chaser"!

You may not be too familiar with Treasure of the Rudras (or Treasure of Rudra), as it's never officially left Japan, but hopefully we can use our power of VGM-cover-game-summoning to bring an official translation overseas.

This game has a spell system ("Mantra") where you make spells using different words that you input yourself. Different words render different results. This really neat system could be what prevented the game from being released outside of Japan, as it'd have to be reworked to make sense in different regions.

Anyway, it'd awesome to see this game remade and released worldwide sometime. Oh yeah, and of course, the soundtrack, composed by Ryuji Sasai who you might know from Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, is great as well! :)

Honestly this game is probably one of the most interesting JRPGs made, especially in the past. It's kind of crazy that the translators did so well with it too. Being able type "Snow" and it creating an ice spell is amazing. I'm hoping it gets an HD-2D remake.

It's truly a shame the game never managed to make it here in any official capacity. The story and atmosphere both have a very SaGa feel to it and considering the SaGa series has gotten a kind of super revival overseas as of the last few years, it would be very fitting if they could somehow remake and localize Treasure of the Rudras. If anything, Live A Live's brand new Switch release proves that not everything has to stay buried in Japan forever. Of course, they would have to find a way to work around the major issue with the Mantra system. In any case, awesome remix as usual. I see Tornado Man is next.

Whaaat!! This is one of my favourite boss themes of all time and it's sooo underrated. NEVER would've expected this amazing cover, thank you so much for shining more light on Rudra's OST! Also love the Black Mage shirt to represent Surlent :)
