Building a Paver Patio with Brock Paver Base - Better than Gravel?

I need to build another paver patio and I'm going to build this a different way using the Brock Paver Panels, instead of the thick gravel layer I used for the back patio. There are both pros and cons to using a gravel base layer for pavers and using the Brock Paver panels. One is tried and true the other is newer and can save you time, but how durable is it, are the places it should not be used, and does it save you money or actually cost more, and which method do I prefer? Watch and find out!

I've gotta say I don't understand your sub count. This video was very professionally edited, the audio is clean, and the overall structure of the video was clear and concise. Overall I think you did a fantastic job, and I won't be surprised if your subs keep climbing if you keep these quality videos coming!

I intend to use this product to improve on a gravel walkway I had a landscaper install nearly 20 years ago. I need/want to cut down on weeds.
Since the soil was removed then, I just need to remove the gravel (really road base) which has collected dirt and weed seeds over time.
I have been purchasing material in small amounts for a year due to price and weight of square pavers.
It will be a diagonal checkerboard pattern using washed gravel in the voids. (I got the idea from a YouTube gardener — Dig. Plant. Water. Repeat.)
I'm kind of excited, but know it's going to be a lot of work for this old lady. Small sections at a time. 😏

Good video I wonder if a bigger heavier paver 16 x 24 and close to inch and a half thick would alleviate the spongy underfoot feel?

The paver base is much easier to use for a beginner, the sand technique was slower and required more patience and skill, big plus was not having to move excess dirt after patio is finished. Keep the builds coming !

16:10 This video is awesome and very helpful. I was wondering about this step where you wrap the fabric around the paver base and then stake it. It makes sense that that would help your sand from moving, but is that going to trap more moisture under the pavers/panels?

Ive used these a couple dozen times when access was a problem and never had any issues. great for diy and the edging strips really locks the thing together when it penetrates the material. only issue is you need to lay them in a way where there isnt a shim piece at the end - might have to start with cut pieces

what if i am trying to lay pavment on top of an already exisiting concrete walkway? Do i add half inch of send on top of there concrete walkway then the Brock base?

Hi im doing a 3 ft wide walkway with stepping stones spaced out about 4in. Gravel will fill in the rest of the area. Can I use these panels in a straight line where my step stones will be? Or do I need the panels to fill in the full 3 ft wide pathway where gravel will be ?

Great video and time taken to explain everything step by step. I have a question I live on a large island and when I dig 3 inches down I'm already into pure sand no actual dirt in my yard to build off of. So I'm thinking if I dig down level it compact it a bit and re-level with some pipes I should be able to put the panels directly down? Do you have any thoughts on this?

Since I watched the video it is very well done but there's a lot of things in here that I think you made extra work for such as the pavers panels in the Middle where you connected all of them and you staggered them as such which staggering them in locking them into place I understand but the middle section that you did I think was not really necessary. I also think that you should have used the polymetric sand this is the reasons why is that when you wet it it locks in and levels itself out so you don't get the movement of blocks as you stated in the video it may have helped with it and it would have.
