This is one slick El Camino! They say if you paint it black it better be straight; well, this one is. Rust free metal. Built in California, it lived on the west coast until 2011.

EXTERIOR: The body is clean, no rust or damage. Straight as a rifle barrel, doors click shut. It has the SS raised hood. The paint is a black mirror, the white SS stripes are painted smooth to the touch. Only a few minor nicks. It looks like all the chrome and trim has been replaced. Bumpers, mirrors, handles, marker light bezels, emblems etc. Stainless trim was replaced. All the trim around the bed opening was replaced. The 15 inch American Racing chrome wheels sparkle like new.

INTERIOR: The bench seat has been reupholstered in a comfortable cloth. Door panels and armrests were replaced. The dash pad is in real nice shape, the instrument panel is good original. It has an aftermarket tachometer, oil pressure and temperature gauge. It also has a modern stereo with 6x9 speakers. The headliner, visors and mirror look new. Dome light works. Original glovebox pouch with owner's manual is in the glovebox.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Strong running 400 small block motor. On top is an enduro shine Edelbrock intake, a big dual feed Holley carb with electric choke and an MSD ignition system. It also has a set of coated headers. New chrome alternator. Features include power steering and power brakes. It's also a factory air condition car, compressor was replaced, and it's updated with 134 freon. Looks proper and tidy; horns are hooked up, radiator and shroud are good, has a battery disconnect.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The tailgate unmatched effortlessly and clicks shut. Bottom of the tailgate is clean metal. The bed is solid, straight metal that's been sprayed with a durable bedliner. It has 2 chrome cargo hooks. You can actually haul stuff without causing harm.

UNDERSIDE: Very dry original metal. The floors, braces and rockers are very clean. The front end steering and suspension components look good. In back it has upgraded sway bar and air shocks. Dual exhaust with cherry bomb mufflers. It has disc brakes in front, the e-brake assembly is hooked up. Rear wheel cylinders were rebuilt. Bottom of the motor is clean, has new flywheel cover, starter and fuel pump. Turbo 350 automatic has a chrome pan. 12 bolt rear end.

This is a stunning looker that you can comfortably drive. Click on the a/c, throw your cooler in the back and let that 400 motor take you away!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.

I had a ‘71 SS years ago..
Mine had a SS dash and gauges,
not a Malibu dash and gauges..

This appears to be a regular El Camino 'tribute' car. Unless I'm uniformed, the SS models had round dials as opposed to the standard 'sweeping' speedo.

These were all business in the back as you say. Sometimes monkey business with a mattress in the back, it was the 70’s!!

A nice El Camino, I would not change a thing on it. Like that it has a 400 small block instead of a 350. I wonder about the dash though. As others have noted it's standard Malibu, not SS?

400 small block with 350HP Do you have a Dyno sheet on this claim? Do you have Eng. build list with PN's? Is the Redline known?

25 grand for paint. I remember back when Earl Scheib would paint any car, any color for $99.99. (Although I saw some of those Earl Scheib paint jobs. I could do a better job with a rattle can.)
