On Sunday, when talks toward a truce deal were set to resume in Cairo, Netanyahu stressed that "there will be no ceasefire without the return of hostages". He is facing intense pressure at home from families and supporters of captives seized by the militants as well as from a resurgent anti-government protest movement. “Up until now, the [Israeli] opposition had decided to put aside its differences with Netanyahu’s government in the interest of national unity. That is coming to an end,” said FRANCE 24's Rob Parsons.

I think there is no point in trying to release the hostages because they are probably dead.

In other words, it's not that the Israeli people care about genocide going on in Gaza. They want the hostages back, then... resume the crimes against humanity.

The director of the World Health Organization said on Sunday that killing and injuring thousands of children in the Gaza Strip is a disgrace to all humanity and this war must end.

Those Hostages would be dead if they were still in the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip is not there anymore. Hamas Combatants and hostages have been in Egypt and in Syria, for the last 5 months. Why would they remain in a place that was having 50 or more air bombing raids, every day. Would you remain. The IDF is not fighting Hamas, if they had been the IDF would have lost more than 264 soldiers in 6 months of gorilla warfare combat, , they IDF would have lost thousands if they had been fighting against highly trained Hamas fighters. The only skirmishes they have faced are against poorly armed small jihadist resistance groups. Not Hamas. They see every Palestinian as Hamas. and its called Genocide

Let's keep in mind that even if netanyahu stepped down today, what would replace him would be even worse for Palestinians.

This is not a way to create safety for Israel.
This is not the way to create safety for a
better tomorrow .. The best future we can
be providing for our children is when we
provide for the children of the people we
don’t know; the same future and the same
hope; we are trying to provide for our own.
