This reminds me of my first time beating Lance in Soul Silver. We were both down to a single pokemon, his final Dragonite and my red Gyarados. Dragonite was down to red and confused off his own outrage and I was down to yellow and he would surely have fainted me if his next outrage had connected. But it didn't. My heart was racing as I was sitting in my late Mum-mum's chair watching his last sliver of health evaporate due to confusion. Was it pure luck? sure, but to 13 year old me it FELT earned, and that was all I needed to ascend to the exalted status of Pokemon Champion. Thanks for reminding me 👍
