I would like to weight in on the conversation about Dior. If an artisan in Italy is making products for Dior then, in general, they can make products for people who order them stuff. Most luxury brands produce in Italy so, if Dior is punished for what it did, then those artisans can offer their services to other luxury houses. I recently saw ads looking for artisans in Italy, even offering to train them, by Hermès, for example. If businesses see they can get away with everything then things will only get worse, in my opinion.
In general, we do have a tool for changing things, which is where we spend our money. If we stop buying from houses that conduct themselves in a way we do not support then they will have to change their ways. It happened with Nike way back, it happened with other brands. Boycott campaigns are successful.
In this case, we are not even talking about a country where there aren't laws to protect the workers, we are talking about a country that has strict laws to protect them and a company that decided to allegedly violate the law.
Dior used to be my favourite brand. I stopped buying anything from them a while ago when I discovered that the CEO of LVMH (the group that owns Dior) makes substantial investmnets in strategic businesses in Israel, supporting the ethn*c cleansing they carry out at the expenses of Palestinians. We do have a voice, and that voice is where we spend our money.

Well said. Its easy for people to say stop buying from brands that are using sweat shops but they don't realise that the ones who will suffer the most is these people in the sweat shops. They will often loose their only form of income. They don't have social security to fall back on. Instead stand up and do and say something to improve their conditions. We all have a voice.
